Goal: Improve French reading fluency by recognizing sounds in isolation to better decode
Indicators of Success: Monthly Data Team Meetings show regular improvement in French reading fluency
Strategies/Actions:
- Teachers will choose their sounds to teach daily based on their assessment.Β 5-120 mins/day, whole class or small group re-teaching if the sounds are in isolation
Grade 4 Team
Goal: Improve literacy results using ORF and MAZE Data
Indicators of Success: Monthly Data Team Meetings show regular improvement in ORF, MAZE data
Strategies/Actions:
- Uninterrupted literacy block where students are grouped and re-grouped using differentiated grade-level guided groups. ESS, Foley, etc., would all take a small group with a targeted focus 2-4 times a week.
- Book Clubs
- Create and assess reading comprehension passages that accompany oral reading fluency.Β

Grade 3 & 5 Team
Goal: Improve Numeracy results at the provincial level at grade 4 and increase the number of twos on report cards to threes.
Indicators of Success: Report card data shows an increase in the number of students achieving a βthreeβ versus a βtwo.β
Strategies/Actions:
- Create benchmarks for numeracy at the grade three level.
- Common assessment is administered three times a year (Numeracy)
- Friday Assessment Day (fact Fluency, word problem, exit slips, etc)
Positive learning and working environment PLAN
Goal: Improve consistency with the application of expectations for behaviour
Indicators of Success: Reduction in power school of common behaviors that lead to learning loss in classrooms.
Strategies/Actions:
- Develop a PBIS behavior flow chart of intervention.
- Develop a system to track playground behaviour
